This workshop will cover the origin and conditions of osteoarthritis and what you can do to treat this debilitating health condition. Physical therapist, Melissa Walls, will talk about how physical therapy can improve patient’s quality of life by reducing pain, improving mobility, and increasing strength all while avoiding surgery!

Melissa Walls, PT, DPT, Envision Sport

With 13 years of treating experience, Melissa Walls, PT, DPT has treated a wide variety of injuries, conditions, and ailments. She has seen the progress patients have and can make in physical therapy while avoiding surgery and medications. Melissa aims to help each of her patients reach their individual goals and encourages them to find a holistic way to recovery – including Pilates!

Melissa graduated with Honors from the University of California, Davis with a BS in Exercise Science and from Chapman University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.  She began her career in 2005 at South County Physical Therapy and Pilates where she fell in love with the practice of Pilates. In 2009, she became Pilates certified from Studio Du Corps, learning how to use Pilates as a tool to both heal and perform.  Melissa went on to expand her physical therapy career at Children’s Hospital of Orange County where she incorporated her Pilates knowledge to help children with both a neurological and orthopedic diagnosis.  She returned to South County Physical Therapy and Pilates (now Envision Sport) taking over as the Director of Physical Therapy and in 2013 as Co-Owner with long-time business partner, Darrin Yee.

Dr. Gaurav Goswami, MD

A unique background, Dr. Goswami trained as both a surgeon and an interventional radiologist. This dual specialty allows him to focus on providing the best and least invasive treatments for his patients. Before moving to Orange County, he was on Faculty at the University of Washington Medical School. Continually motivated by finding better ways to care for his patients, Dr. Goswami has been an investigator on clinical trials, an author of numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, as well as a lecturer and workshop leader at scientific conferences.

One of his most rewarding moments at PreciseCare was being able to help an elderly woman who traveled all the way from India to receive regenerative cell therapy. 8 months after her treatment, she no longer needed to use a walker, vastly improving her quality of life.
